WIPs Towards Future Projects

It has been almost 4 months since I have returned back to Canada and I find myself constantly exploring artistic fields that I have had interest in but never had an opportunity to truly focus on. It has been nothing short but scary as from a young age I was raised on the idea that after you finish university you should focus on finding a stable career with a solid income. At heart I still have that stress, struggling to have faith in my skills and ability to eventually “make it” successfully. I want to make my family proud and unworried about whether or not I can feed myself, but at the end of the day I have many doubts. While I did write about some goals I have been working on in my previous post, I wish to update on the WIPS before this month’s end.

Role Pandas –
My main project is my Role Panda concept. I’m working on designing a whole collection of RPG themed cartoon pandas. Thus far I have created satisfying concepts for The Knight and The Mage, and hope to launch 2 more members for the starting party. The design has been in the works since I was working in Korea, so I am very excited to be finalizing the design after 1.5 years working on the concept and sketches. I have created mock ups for what I would imagine the pins, charms, and patch design would look like. I may use these designs for other merchandise formats in the future. I’m still working on the colour design for the pandas, but I have decided to start selling a tester batch of The Knight. I may end up tweaking it in the future to match the later designs if it looks completely different from the rest of the colour concepts.

T-Shirt Store –
You may have noticed that I have added a shop option to my site recently. At this moment of time I have decided to sell my designs on Inktale. I will be uploading Role Panda designs on there in the near future. I may decide to switch to different store holders in the future, but for now I decided to go with Inktale to see how I like it. Opening Commissions –
I’ve started to consider taking on commissions in the near future as well as I slowly start developing my portfolio. I will provide a contact email for people to use for business related messages. There will be a designated area to request my services that I will be able to provide. At the moment I can be contacted through my Twitter DM’s for immediate contact.
Currently I can provide illustration and basic graphic design services.

Continuing Voice Acting Lessons –
Starting July I will be continuing my lessons in voice acting. While to some this may be seen as unnecessary, but I know that I struggle with performance anxiety. I hope to over come this through practice and gain tips from industry professionals as I later develop a demo reel. My goal is to one day voice a memorable character/someone on the main cast in a cartoon. I’m considering starting a twitch channel in order to encourage myself to be less afraid performing in front of people, but I haven’t looked to heavily into setting up quite yet. It’ll also give me the opportunity to go through my gaming backlog that I have accumulated over the years!
